I really agree. When I gave “the talk” to my younger cousins this was basically my version: if you don’t orgasm then don’t have sex. When you figure that few teenage boys (or young adult men or old men or men at all) can facilitate a female orgasm I considered it pretty much a lock on abstinence.

Hubby actually talked to kid #1 about making sure his partners enjoy sex. It redefined awkward for all involved, but we did promise him comprehensive sex ed.

The best book about this that I’ve read so far is Judith Levine’s Harmful to Minors: The perils of protecting children from sex.  It made me re-examine my beliefs about who should be having sex (and when and why), and blew out a lot of cultural cobwebs that had crept in without me noticing.
