so the other day i sat in on an #occupybronx meeting...

  • some white dude (passing out his business cards): so my organization is making the bronx a destination location and redoing the bronx's image from the outside so we can attract more people.
  • me (with the mean side-eye): that sounds like gentrification to me. as a member of the south bronx, that is worrisome. i don't want to be anyone's destination. this is my home.
  • *the said white dude sat there angrily as the rest of the table silently laughed and gave me a nod.
